Isabella Barbee
Mortgage Banker
Meet Isabella Barbee.
Isabella has been at Plains Commerce Bank for over 5 years. She started as a temp on the disclosure desk before transitioning to become a loan processor under senior mortgage banker, Dawn Van Nieuwenhuyzen, and eventually taking her mortgage banker title.
Bella has a deep passion for building lifelong relationships and empowering homebuyers. She believes education is the key to confidence and takes pride in breaking down the mortgage process in a way that feels simple, honest, and human. Her clients know she treats every loan like it’s her own — because the decisions they make today shape their future, and that truly matters to her. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, purchasing your next home, or refinancing to improve your terms, Bella approaches your financing with the same care and commitment she would for her own family.
Program options include conventional loans, Veterans Administration (VA) loans, Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans, rural development loans, and various first-time homebuyer programs.
Born and raised in South Dakota, Bella graduated from the University of South Dakota after spending her college years traveling before ultimately returning to Sioux Falls to be close to family. She is married to her husband, Gunnar, and together they’re raising their beautiful daughter, Sunnie, with another little girl on the way. Their home is always lively thanks to their four French bulldogs—Bonnie, Millie, Savvy, and Knox—and often filled with the conversation and laughter of their close-knit friend group and family, who they love to host. When she’s not with clients or loved ones, you can usually find Bella working out, shopping, or occasionally baking something sweet just for fun.
