Meet Derik Budig. Derik was born and raised in Yankton, SD, where he witnessed his parent’s business grow. It was during those years he saw the highs and sometimes lows of owning and growing a business. Derik credits his parents for instilling in him the value of “a hard day’s work”.
Derik has a unique background that has led him to business banking. Upon college graduation, he spent a decade coaching, making stops in the NFL, NCAA DI and NCAA DII levels. After a successful run in coaching, he jumped into the non-profit world where he ultimately became a CEO of a YMCA.
In 2017, Derik was able to move back “home” to Sioux Falls, where he landed into healthcare. He worked his way to become the Practice Manager of an independent orthopedic practice. In 2018, he assisted in the negotiations and ultimately merger of CORE Orthopedics with Orthopedic Institute.
Derik uses these experiences leading and growing organizations to serve his customers and community. Derik is passionate about building lasting relationships that go beyond banking.
In his free time, Derik enjoys hunting, fishing, exercising and working in the yard. His wife Mandy is an 8th grade science teacher and together they have 5 children that keep them busy!
